Ashikita, Kumamoto

Ashikita (芦北町, Ashikita-machi^?) is a town located in Ashikita District, Kumamoto, Japan.

On January 1, 2005, the town of Tanoura merged into Ashikita. As of this merger but with 2003 population data, the town has an estimated population of 21,644 and a density of 92.7 persons per km². The total area is 233.48 km².

There is a beach at Ashkita, as well as a marine park, where you can ride a roller luge or try zorbing.
